The First Book of Terranis

I. The Four Foundational Principles

1. Sanguis — Blood, which does not lie.

2. Silentium — Silence, which does not break.

3. Obligatio — Obligation, which does not cease.

4. Reversio — Return, which does not halt.

Through these circles the Law of Terranis moves, and their order is immutable.

V. De Domu Ferrata — Concerning the Mandate of the Iron House

During the High Dominion of Terranis, Domus Ferrata — the Iron House — bore the authority to interpret the Codex. Their power rested not upon the sword, but upon the Stone, to which they returned after death.

The first decree of the Iron House’s mandate states:

“Lex non fugit.” — The Law does not flee.

This decree remains in force, for the Law of Terranis does not age.

The First Chapter of Terranis

As it is carved into the northern rock of the Coreland

I. Prologus Lapideus — The Stone Prologue

Before words, there was Stone; and before Stone, there was Memory; and before Memory, there was Obligation, which was not born but simply was. Terranis acknowledges this order and sets it as the foundation of its sphere.

For the Law of Terranis is not written upon parchment, which burns, nor upon metal, which rusts, but upon Stone, which bears all things and forgets nothing.

II. De Origine Terranidis — On the Origin of Terranis

Terranis is not created, but remembered back into being. The sphere arose when the First Obligators spoke the words:

“Quod debetur, redeat.” — Let that which is owed return.

Thus Terranis took form: cliffs rose like the ribs of ancient beings, and the Outer Circles arranged themselves into seven rings, each devoted to a single principle.

III. De Natura Lexis — On the Nature of the Law

The Law of Terranis is not a command, but a reminder. It does not force, but returns. It does not punish, but records.

Everything that steps into Terranis leaves a trace, and the trace becomes part of the Law.

Therefore the Codex of Terranis is not a collection of rules, but a map showing how obligations travel through the sphere and return to the place from which they departed.

IV. De Septem Circulis — On the Seven Circles

The Outer Circles of Terranis are seven, and each bears one of the sphere’s foundational principles:

5. Ordo — Order, which does not waver.

6. Memoria — Memory, which does not fade.

7. Lapis — Stone, which does not bend.

VI. De Silentio — On the Sacred Obligation of Silence

Silence within the sphere of Terranis is not absence, but power. Silence is the state in which Stone listens and Memory writes.

Thus the Codex decrees:

“Qui Terranidem intrat, Silentium servet.” — Whoever enters Terranis shall bear Silence.

Silence is not a punishment, but a right that protects the sphere’s memory.

VII. De Reversione — On the Law of Return

The Law of Terranis ends where it begins: in Return. All obligations return, all memories return, all traces return.

The first chapter of the Codex concludes with the words:

“In lapide initium, in lapide finis.” — In Stone the beginning, in Stone the end.

Thus Terranis remains unchanged, though the spheres around it shift.

VIII. Clausula Prima — The First Closing Clause

The engraving of this chapter is sacred and must not be altered, for the Law of Terranis is not written by mortals, but by the sphere itself.
